Cultural Survey - OVI
The Organizational Vitality Index (OVI) is a measurement instrument used to take a snapshot of employee perceptions of the culture of an organization, and to identify areas most in need of improvement. The survey consists of four categories, each containing four areas of inquiry, with each area composed of seven statements related to that area.
The OVI is designed to measure organizational vitality in terms of the relative capabilities of organizations in areas deemed to be key to achieving “high performing organization” status. Organizations use it to tell if they are ready for stretch growth, for organizational change or to ensure the attitudes towards to the organization are healthy in general. It is not an employee satisfaction survey!
The survey is designed to measure the perceived strength and effectiveness of the culture and to identify those areas where the culture excels, and those areas where there are weaknesses that must be addressed to achieve the organization's objectives.
The survey is web-based and easy to complete. The survey is user-friendly and the categories are intuitively understandable, providing a logical way to think through all of the vital and integrated aspects of the enterprise. Respondents are asked to provide commentary if they wish it desirable and to make improvement suggestions.
Results can be segmented by business unit or division, by employee groups and by functional areas. All respondents are protected with confidentiality so open and candid responses are encouraged. The results can be segmented so that resources are directed to greatest improvement priorities in each area of the business.
Areas for improvement should be identified based on immediate strategic priorities and impact on perceptions, and steps should be taken to focus resources on ensuring improved results in these areas.
